This thing is known to everyone who works in the hospitals that accidents and injuries are part of the daily routine and every day thousands of people lose their lives in these accidents. The reason that is actually a cause of death of people after accidents is majority of times the excessive loss of blood.
According to an online paper published in ‘The Lancet.’ This thing has been claimed that if the people who have severe bleeding after accidents are provided with a cheap widely available drug that helps their blood to clot then millions of lives could be saved every day.
The ablove provided results were provided by Dr Ian Roberts, Professor of Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), UK who have actually inferred it from a trial showing the early administration of tranexamic acid (TXA) to the patient with bleeding after injury can save the lives and no adverse affects of this have been seen.
This trial has been named as CRASH-2 and it was practiced on 20,000 adults’ patients in 274 hospitals present in the 40 countries. The whole trial was funded by funded by England’s National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Health Technology Assessment program.
After the trials, the researchers found that administering TXA soon after the injury can control up to 100,000 deaths in a year worldwide. While discussing about this research the health minister Earl Howe said that “I am delighted that through the National Institute for Health Research, the Department of Health has funded this research which shows that TXA can be used safely on patients with recent, severe bleeding caused by injury. “
So a new way of saving lives has been discovered and this medical treatment should be ordered in every country so that death rates due to accidents could be controlled.
