It is a very old belief that lifting the heavy weights tend to increase the size of your body muscles but a new research has proven this concept wrong, according to the study conducted by McMaster University, the muscle building can also be achieved by using the lighter weights and the only secret is to pump iron until you reach the muscle fatigue. While discussing about these new findings, Stuart Phillips, associate professor of kinesiology at McMaster University said that “Rather than grunting and straining to lift heavy weights, you can grab something much lighter but you have to lift it until you can’t lift it anymore” and further “We’re convinced that growing muscle means stimulating your muscle to make new muscle proteins, a process in the body that over time accumulates into bigger muscles”.
Philips has also appreciated lead author and senior Ph.D. student Nicholas Burd for working on this project and these findings will surely help those people who use to lift the heaviest possible weight in order to increase the size of their muscles.
The researchers have seen that this new data will prove to be efficient for the gym crazy people and will also prove to be effective for the people who can’t carry the heavy weights because of some other physical problems.
