Berries are not only one of the most delicious foods that everyone loves to eat but they are also one of the healthiest foods that nature has brought for us. A recent research has shown the first evidence that eating blueberries, strawberries and acai berries can boost up the aging mind to stay healthy in the crucial but previously unrecognized way.
This study was presented at the 240th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and the main findings of this study were that the berries and possibly the walnuts activates the brain’s natural ‘housekeeper’ mechanism that cleans up the toxic proteins linked to the age related memory loss.
According to Shibu Poulose, Ph.D. who had presented this report and who is with the U. S. Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service (USDA-ARS) Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging in Boston “The good news is that natural compounds called polyphenolics found in fruits, vegetables and nuts have an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect that may protect against age-associated decline”.
In the research Poulose and colleagues mainly analyzed the natural housekeeping activities of human and the ingredients found in the above mentioned fruits have been proven to be quiet affective for maintaining the housekeeping activities of human brain.
